The Central Cambria AP Spanish class had a “dia de ciencias” (Science day) at Carnegie Science Center in February. The group of 18 seniors watched a presentation in Spanish about telescopes and did a scavenger hunt (instructions in Spanish) throughout the Science Center.
After the museum, the group headed to Mallorca, a Spanish restaurant in the South Side, where students had an opportunity to try paella (the national dish of Spain; see attached picture), garlic chicken and sangria.
According to the students, the best part of the day was the food. It was a great day spent using Spanish in a real-world environment. Thanks again to the Central Cambria Education Foundation for this experience! (Mrs. Templeton & AP Spanish students).
